New technologies have the ability to introduce new risks that organisations must be able anticipate and react effectively to. Such risks must be clearly identified and remediation steps planned prior to technology implementation. This presentation considers potential risks associated with the adaptation of emerging technologies without fully considering security threats. Technologies considered in this presentation include VoIP, mobile devices, multi-functional devices and virtual environments. By utilising a holistic approach including technology awareness and user education, organisations can not only seek to address the specific threats introduced by these technologies but also other technologies that are certain to appear in the future.
